TikTok Content Creator

MeloCompass is a volunteer run community platform and podcast.

This role is part of the Digital Marketing team. You are responsible for planning and creating content for TikTok as well as supporting the rest of the team with administrative tasks.

This is a voluntary role that requires approximately 6 hrs of your time per week. This may vary from time to time. 

You would also be required to join and actively contribute to 1:1s, team meetings in person and on zoom.

Responsibilities:

  • TikTok content planning and ideation

  • TikTok content creation

  • Scheduling, posting and drafting captions for TikTok 

  • Stay on top of trends and take the initiative to produce content off the back of suitable trends. 

  • Support on administrative tasks including (not limited to) researching industry news, events and jobs. Also, contribute to identifying potential partners that MeloCompass can collaborate with.

Requirements

About You 

  • Passionate about music and the music business.

  • Sophisticated knowledge of TikTok as an app, trends, communities, LIVE and what type of content works well on TikTok.

  • Skilled at creating and editing video content using Canva, CapCut and other video editing apps to produce short form videos.

  • Comfortable with talking to camera in videos.

  • Experience of growing an audience on TikTok. 

  • Creative self-starter who is at ease with taking initiative and working collaboratively.

  • Must be highly motivated, have a positive demeanour, be a team player and proactive.

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work on time.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • UK based, able to travel to in person meet ups.

Account Executive

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent writing skills and a keen interest in the business side of music to work with organisations across all areas of the industry – current and recent clients include the Association of Independent Music (AIM), Believe UK, Exceleration Music, FUGA, IDOL, Mahogany, Proper Music Distribution, and Sony Music UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Support with day-to-day PR activities across multiple clients, ensuring work is completed efficiently and on time

  • Write press releases, opinion pieces, socials copy and pitches

  • Participate in client communications, including contributing to meetings and calls

  • Keep on top of all client admin and reporting

  • Monitor industry news and trends to identify relevant media opportunities for clients

  • Build and maintain media lists, and begin nurturing relationships with key journalists in the music trade and wider press

  • Report to account managers, taking ownership of your workload while knowing when to escalate or seek support

  • Support with company admin and office tasks, as well as helping out on occasional consumer PR projects

Job requirements:

  • A strong interest in B2B communications, with ideally at least a year’s experience in a previousPR or journalism role

  • Excellent writing and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently

  • Strong organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work across multiple projects to a high standard

  • Experience building relationships with journalists, with an understanding of key music trade,business and tech titles

  • A genuine interest in the inner workings of the music business

  • A collaborative team player with a proactive, professional attitude and a desire to grow within a specialist PR agency environment
